Reflection - Oct. 29

Discuss your thoughts on today's test. How did you do? What do you plan to do next time to do even better? (re: Test #3)

  1. I'm not sure about how I did on Test 3, though I rarely feel confident after tests anyway. Haha. I hope it will be a passing grade. I need to be better at checking my EN100 calendar and studying before the test.

    1. I also don't feel confident after tests, but I think it's only because I don't prepare as well as I should. Also, I need to get an early start on studying rather than studying the day before the test.

    2. I also need to check the syllabus more or on a daily basis. I only found out today that we had a test. Although, I was able to study for at least about an hour or less before class.

    3. I did not know there was a test today until I looked at my notes. I tried to study all the chapters in class and it worked out okay.

    4. Same as you, I never feel confident after tests but I try not to think about the aftermath so much because it stresses me out more. I remembered we had a test today last night... And studied during my break.

    5. I hope I get a decent grade as well.

    6. I also hope that I get at least a B. That test was something I never would have expected.

    7. I wish I checked my calender before the day-of so I could have studied more. But otherwise, I never feel confident when taking a test. Just have to deal with the aftermath.

  2. I am sure I did not do well on the test. I kind of studied, but some questions I did not know. Hopefully, I will study more and understand the lessons better.

    1. I did not do well on the test either. I think we should study more thoroughly next time. The next test might even be more difficult.

    2. Studying is a big part of all college classes and it is smart to study for at least one hour a day.

    3. I agree with what Nicholas said... My psych teacher said to always dedicated 2 hours or more for each class you have. You were the first one to finish though - haha!

    4. I don't think anyone of us were well prepared for this test. I thought it was going to be like the previous tests, but no. Nicholas is right, college is all about the test and you really need to study for those tests.

    5. Yeah, I agree. I studied too, but there was questions I didn't know about.

  3. Today's test was pretty difficult than the last two. I noticed that as we progress the tests become more difficult. I feel that I did pretty alright considering the fact that I wasn't very prepared. I studied, but not thoroughly enough. To do better next time, I plan to spend more time studying and taking better reading notes.

    1. I noticed that too.. I liked our last two tests better than today's test.

    2. This test was definitely the hardest test we have had so far. I think more extra credit is on the way.

    3. Thanks for reminder by the way! Just like you, I didn't read thoroughly for the passages when Professor told us that test would be heavy with it... Sigh.

    4. That is good that you are confident. I did not like the test today because there was too much essay reading. Oh well.

  4. Today's test was difficult. I do not think I did well on this test. I studied however, I was not as prepared as I should be. I plan on studying thoroughly next time.

    1. Studying works best when you read the material over once then take a break and finally reread it for the last time.

    2. I agree. I must study more diligently next time.

    3. I agree the test was difficult. I also need to study more to be better prepared for the next test.

  5. Today's test was a difficult one, but I think I did my best. I could have studied a little harder, but I do not think it would have helped very much. I think I knew as much as I will ever know on those sections. I hope the bonus questions will save my grade. I always rely on the bonus to help out my score on the test. This test required a lot of writing and I prefer multiple choice questions. I think I got at least a B.

    1. That's true... I also do the bonus questions first whenever we take the test and move sporadically hoping that I catch some pieces of information to help me during the test.

    2. I do the bonus questions to help because I know I wouldn't get a perfect score. However I rely on studying more than I do the bonus question. Besides, the bonus question only helps a tiny fraction so I wouldn't rely on it.

  6. I was sort of prepared this time and then BAM! It was just difficult. I think it gets harder and harder as tests go on, but I know the last one will be the final one until our Final Exam in December.

I was just caught off guard with the reading and the second portion of the test where we talk about descriptive paragraphs. I blanked out and tried to guess... Academically.

Like Nicholas said, I'm probably expecting a high B or mid B with the performance I gave today. I'll study even harder and look at the passage readings carefully (possibly once or twice) instead of skimming through it.

    1. That's funny. I feel the same way. I prepare for the test as I usually would the previous test, but apparently I had to study a lot more than I thought. I think I will study a lot more than expected this time around because the next test will only get harder.

    2. I want to believe that I got the same grade but by the time I got to the end I couldn't remember anything. And I was also caught off guard.

  7. Today's test was difficult. I feel I did my best to answer the questions. I will spend more time reviewing the sections due to the specifics asked in the fill in the blank portion of the test.

    1. I felt that it was difficult as well. I tried minimizing my mistakes by re-checking my answers three times.

    2. I think we all feel the same. We all did our best, but hoped we could do better.

  8. Today's test was difficult. I was pretty confident then when I started flipping the pages I was going blank. I hope I did we'll and if I didn't at least I got the extra credit coming up.

    1. I usually feel pretty confident at first. Then when I get the test, my mind blanks out for a moment. Our English tests always surprise me every time, but I enjoy the challenge.

    2. Yes, I am thankful that we have an upcoming extra credit opportunity.

    3. I'm so glad that the extra credit was there. The first page kind of scared me because all I saw was blank lines.

  9. The third test was the most difficult among the previous tests. I did review and browsed through the material but I still had difficulties. When I saw the test I was shocked because I have never encountered such testing material in this class. I feel that I should study more net time.

    2. The test was pretty hard. But, she did remind us about it being longer than the previous ones.

    3. I agree with you, this was a difficult test.

  10. This test was so much more difficult then the previous tests. It involved reading a section of reading and comprehending it and apply it to the lesson. I feel that I did okay. Once I got to the end of the test I was just so ready for it to be done that I couldn't really remember what i had reviewed. Next time I need to study more and make sure I know the writers guidelines by heart.

    1. This test totally caught me off guard and it was pretty difficult for me as well. I need to study more and actually remember when the tests are.

    2. Thanks for the notice this morning. My grade would've been even worse if you didn't tell me about the test.

  12. I don't think I did very well on this test. But, I have to admit I forgot about it over the weekend and didn't study until 2-3 hours before the class, so that's on me. I seriously need to fix that. I hope everyone passed!

    1. I honestly didn't know about the test. Toni just told me about it this morning.

  13. I did not feel too confident about this test at all. To be honest, I completely forgot there was even a test in the first place. I had an extremely tiring weekend, which made me forget priorities. I would not be surprised to get a low grade because I deserve it. I need to prioritize my time and remember what is needed to be done. Peace.

  14. I felt like I was going to do great on the test until I saw it. I think I should have reviewed through the book instead of reading the reflections in the moodleroom. So once again, I kind of just winged it and answered some questions the best I can. Hopefully, my results will turn out alright.

  15. Im not sure how I did on today's test. I left some blank or made a guess. I did the extra credit so I hope that helps me a little bit. I definitely have to read the book more thoroughly and understand it next time. Hopefully I will be better prepared for the next test!
