Reflection - Oct. 1

Discuss your thoughts on today's activities. (Re: Test #1, continuation of writing process stages)

  1. The continuation of the writing process was very straight forward.
It put together everything we have learned throughout the class. We read examples of an essay about sweat lodges. I never knew that sweat lodges were the Native American's form of religion. We went over examples of proper proofreading and editing in class. The test was brutally specific, but I think I did a good job.

    2. Honestly, I had a hard time with the test. Not easy studying for two exams that are on the same day. Hope I did great on both though.

  2. Today we had an overview of the writing process that contained everything we had covered already. It gave a thorough example of using the writing process worksheet, that was based on sweat lodges. The test was on point and covered specifically on all that we have learned so far.

  3. We reviewed the writing process worksheet today about Leah's essay on the Prison Sweat Lodge. It covered all three writing stages and it was pretty straight forward. After the review, we had our first test and I must say, it was pretty challenging. I hope I did okay.

  4. Today we went over everything about the writing process. After that we took a test. The test was on everything we learned about the writing process. I am pretty confident that I did we'll on the test. It was kind of challenging at first, but I'm sure I did we'll. I also liked the quote we had to put in our own words. "Success doesn't come to you...you go to success."

    1. I had trouble finding the quote, but I found it at the end of the test right before I was about to turn it in.

  5. Today, we went over the writing process. It was just a quick review of everything we had learn from chapters One through Four. The test on the other hand was quite difficult for me. As soon as I had the test in my hands, I completely forgot everything. Hopefully, I did well.

    1. Test taking is only difficult if you do not actively participate in class. I knew seventy percent of everything on the test without studying for it.

    2. It's okay. I know the feeling of blanking out right when you begin taking a test. Ahh, I hate that. I hope you did well. We still have other tests to take.

  6. Today, we had an overview of the writing process. We read Leah's writing worksheet on Prison Sweat Lodges. Her worksheet had everything from we had learned. From that point on, it was just a one direction for us. Although the test was slightly difficult. At one point, I was so frustrated because I knew the answer but I couldn't remember it. Yet I think I got most of the answers right, I hope.

  8. Today, we took our first test that covered chapters 1 to 4. It wasn't as hard as i thought it would be. I was pretty confident after taking it. I just hope I did well enough. We also discussed chapter 5, which was the writing process. It was all pretty straight forward and easy to understand because we already learned the material.

  9. Today was quite eventful. We took our first test for the semester and I must say, I hope I did good since I didn't really brush up on my reading because it slipped out of my mind to check the calendar of events until today. The test was fairly decent in levels of hardship. It was simple and straight to the point. If you read thoroughly through the previous chapters we discussed, it was easy-peasy. Today's class was cool.

  10. We reviewed the chapters and read the example about sweat lodges. It demonstrated the different stages of writing. Then we took our first test. It was easy for the multiple choice parts. The questions where you have to describe the terms in detail kind of got to me. It was a thorough test. I should have studied more.

  11. Ok so I totally forgot about this. But better late than never. I think that the test was fairly easy. A good way that I prepared was by reading the writer's guidelines and it really did help. And the example essay read very helpful in understanding the writing process. Hopefully we did well on the test.
